How to recognise this generation
  • Hatchback body with a very thick rear pillar and a short tailgate
  • Shares only the hood with the sedan (Mazda: the saloon shares just its bonnet and windscreen with the hatchback); bumpers, fenders, doors, quarters and lamps are hatch-specific
  • No fog lamps
  • Turbo (2021+) adds a black grille and larger exhaust tips on the same panels; the Appearance Package adds a front chin spoiler that changes the bumper cut: choose it on bumper kits
  • Rear parking sensors on GS and up, front sensors on GT / Turbo Premium Plus: choose the sensor options
