Hyundai Ioniq (Hybrid / Plug-in / Electric): which body do you have?
Compare your car with the pictures. The year you bought it is only a hint, because bodies changed at different times in different regions.
Ioniq (2017–2019, AE)
2017 – 2019
- Low fastback hatchback with a split rear window and a roof spoiler on every car
- Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid have a slatted grille; the Electric has a closed grille panel and its own front bumper
- Hood, fenders, mirrors, doors, sills and roof share one pattern across Hybrid, Plug-in and Electric
- The lamps in the lower bumper corners are LED daytime running lights (no front fog lamps)
- Plug-in Hybrid has a charging door in the left front fender: choose the charging-door option on fender and full-body kits
- Roof with or without sunroof: choose the roof type on roof kits
- Not covered: 2020–2022 refreshed Ioniq (mesh or patterned grille, new bumpers and LED headlights)
- Not covered: Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 (different cars)
Ioniq (2020–2022, AE facelift)
2020 – 2022
- Refresh (Korea early 2019, Europe Sept 2019, North America late 2019 as the 2020 model): new front and rear bumpers and a redesigned daytime-light signature
- Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid keep the 2017–2019 headlight shape; the Electric has its own headlight shape, so its bumper and headlight kits are cut separately
- Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid have a mesh grille; the Electric has a patterned closed grille and its own front bumper
- Hood, fenders, mirrors, doors, sills and roof are unchanged from the 2017–2019 car and shared across Hybrid, Plug-in and Electric
- No front fog lamps
- Front parking sensors on upper trims: choose the sensor options on bumper kits
- Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid front bumpers differ between North American and European / UK cars: choose the vehicle specification on bumper kits (the Electric bumper is the same everywhere)
- Plug-in Hybrid has a charging door in the left front fender: choose the charging-door option on fender and full-body kits
- Not covered: 2017–2019 Ioniq (slatted or plain closed grille, earlier bumpers)
- Not covered: Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 (different cars)
