How to install PPF on a Honda CR-V (2020–2022)
A DIY guide for the Honda CR-V (2020–2022, fifth gen refresh), built 2020 – 2022. Every piece of a Kutfit kit arrives cut for this body, so the job is cleaning, wetting, positioning and squeegeeing: no blade near your paint and no installer.
1. Check it is your car
Kits follow the body shape, not the model year. These kits are for the Honda CR-V (2020–2022, fifth gen refresh):
- Darker grille with a smaller chrome bar
- Reshaped lower front bumper and fog lamp surrounds; new rear bumper
- Three lower-bumper patterns: black lower bumper (most trims), painted lower bumper (2021–2022 Touring / Hybrid Touring) and the 2020 Black Edition: choose on bumper kits
- Same headlights and body as the 2017 car
- Hybrid added, same body; no parking sensors on this body

3. Pick your car’s options before ordering
On the kit page you tell us how your Honda CR-V (2020–2022) is equipped, and the pieces are cut to match. Check your car for:
- Front bumper type
- Black lower bumper (LX / EX / EX-L / Sport / Special Edition, 2020 Touring) · Painted lower bumper (2021–2022 Touring / Hybrid Touring) · Black Edition (2020)
- Fog lamps
- With fog lamps · No fog lamps (blank bumper inserts)
- Roof type
- Solid roof (no opening) · Single sunroof / moonroof opening (cut-out included) · Panoramic or dual-pane glass roof (only the painted edges are covered)
4. What you need
- A clean, sheltered place to work
- The supplied pre-cut film and numbered map
- Soft squeegee and clean microfibre cloths
- Two clean spray bottles for slip and tack solution (not included)
The kit includes the squeegee, a microfibre cloth and installation solution to mix with water.
5. Apply the film
- 1Clean the panel. Wash and decontaminate the paint so no dirt gets trapped under the film. Work in a clean, sheltered space.
- 2Prepare your solutions. Mix the supplied installation solution with water as its label directs. Keep slip and tack solution in separate labelled spray bottles.
- 3Wet the panel and film. Spray the panel, your hands and the adhesive side of the pre-cut piece. The film should be able to float into position.
- 4Match the numbered map. Use the installation map and panel edges to align each piece before pressing it down.
- 5Squeegee out the water. Anchor the centre, then work outwards in overlapping strokes. Lift and re-wet a section if it traps water or air.
- 6Finish the edges. Use tack solution where the supplied guide calls for it, then squeegee the edges. Let the film settle before washing the car.
- Start small. If it is your first time, do the mirror caps or rocker panels first to get a feel for floating and squeegeeing the film.
- Follow the numbers. Each piece is numbered to the installation map in your kit, so you always know where it goes.
