Full front or full body PPF: which kit should you choose?
Every Kutfit car has the same three main DIY pre-cut kits. Here is what each one covers, what it costs on popular cars and who it suits.
Partial front
Budget chip protection, or a car you will not keep for long.
- Covers the leading edge of the hood and fenders, where most stone chips land
- Mirror caps included
- Fewest pieces: the quickest install
On the Tesla Model Y Juniper (2025+): partial hood (leading edge), both fenders (partial) and mirror caps.
Full front
Most drivers. It protects everything that faces the road ahead.
- Whole hood and fenders, so there is no film line across the hood
- Front bumper, which takes the most chips
- Mirror caps and headlamps
On the Tesla Model Y Juniper (2025+): full hood, front bumper, both fenders, mirror caps and headlamps.
Full body
A new or special car you want to keep perfect, or a full colour change.
- Every painted panel as one numbered set
- Adds the doors, rocker panels, rear bumper and the trunk, hatch or tailgate
- Needed for a full colour change with colour film
On the Tesla Model Y Juniper (2025+): full hood, front bumper, both fenders, mirror caps, headlamps, a-pillars, front doors, rear doors, rocker panels, rear quarters, door edges, door handle cups, rear bumper, trunk lid and trunk ledge / loading edge.
What they cost on popular cars
Clear gloss prices for the standard trim. Matte and colour film cost more.
How to choose
Start from how you drive. Highway driving throws stones at the front of the car, so the front kits do most of the work. If you mostly drive in town, a partial front may be enough.
Full front is the usual answer. A partial kit ends partway up the hood and fenders, so there is a film edge across the paint. The full front kit covers whole panels, which hides the edges in the panel gaps.
Choose full body for a colour change, or to protect every panel. Doors, sills and the rear bumper collect scratches from parking, grit and loading. A full body kit is also the only way to change the whole car’s colour with colour film.
You can add later. Every panel group is also sold on its own, so you can start with the front and add rocker panels or the rear bumper later.
