How to install PPF on a Ford F-150 (2021–2023)
A DIY guide for the Ford F-150 (2021–2023, fourteenth generation), built 2021 – 2023. Every piece of a Kutfit kit arrives cut for this body, so the job is cleaning, wetting, positioning and squeegeeing: no blade near your paint and no installer.
1. Check it is your car
Kits follow the body shape, not the model year. These kits are for the Ford F-150 (2021–2023, fourteenth generation):
- C-clamp headlights wrapping around a wider grille; one headlight pattern fits every non-Raptor trim
- Grille insert varies by trim (bars, mesh, or body-colour); the front bumper is shared by every trim except Tremor
- Tremor (2021–2023) has its own front bumper, grille and a rear bumper with dual-exhaust cut-outs; Limited has its own hood & fender pattern
- Two hoods: the standard hood, or the raised hood fitted to Tremor and to trucks with the Black Appearance Package: choose the hood type on hood kits
- Front parking sensors (4 or 6) and rear sensors vary by trim and package: choose both on bumper kits
- Regular Cab, SuperCab or SuperCrew with 5½-, 6½- or 8-ft beds: choose the cab and bed on side, rocker, roof and full-body kits
- Sold alongside the 2024 refresh during run-out; the last new sale of this body is not yet evidenced
- Lightning (electric) is a separate body, listed below
- Conventional sideview mirrors or optional telescoping trailer-tow (PowerScope) mirrors with different caps: choose the mirror option on hood / fender / mirror kits
- Not for: Raptor / Raptor R (wide body)
- Not for: Shelby and Roush conversions

4. What you need
- A clean, sheltered place to work
- The supplied pre-cut film and numbered map
- Soft squeegee and clean microfibre cloths
- Two clean spray bottles for slip and tack solution (not included)
The kit includes the squeegee, a microfibre cloth and installation solution to mix with water.
5. Apply the film
- 1Clean the panel. Wash and decontaminate the paint so no dirt gets trapped under the film. Work in a clean, sheltered space.
- 2Prepare your solutions. Mix the supplied installation solution with water as its label directs. Keep slip and tack solution in separate labelled spray bottles.
- 3Wet the panel and film. Spray the panel, your hands and the adhesive side of the pre-cut piece. The film should be able to float into position.
- 4Match the numbered map. Use the installation map and panel edges to align each piece before pressing it down.
- 5Squeegee out the water. Anchor the centre, then work outwards in overlapping strokes. Lift and re-wet a section if it traps water or air.
- 6Finish the edges. Use tack solution where the supplied guide calls for it, then squeegee the edges. Let the film settle before washing the car.
- Start small. If it is your first time, do the mirror caps or rocker panels first to get a feel for floating and squeegeeing the film.
- Line up the cut-outs first. On a bumper with sensor or camera openings, float the piece until every opening sits over its sensor before you squeegee.
- Follow the numbers. Each piece is numbered to the installation map in your kit, so you always know where it goes.
