Volkswagen Tiguan: which body do you have?

Tiguan (2018–2021, AD1 long wheelbase)
2018 – 2021
- Long-wheelbase body (2,791 mm) with three-row seating: longer rear doors and roof than the short European Tiguan
- Horizontal chrome grille bars joined to angular headlights
- LED fog lamps on Comfortline and up (US SE and up); Trendline / S have blank inserts: choose the fog option
- R-Line has its own front and rear bumpers, grille insert and side sills (Volkswagen 2018 order guide)
- Front and rear parking sensors (Park Distance Control) on Highline (US SEL); rear only on Comfortline: choose the sensor options
- Roof: solid, or the panoramic sunroof (Comfortline and up): choose the roof type
- Headlamp washers on European Allspace cars; none in North America: choose the washer option on bumper kits
- Sold as the Tiguan Allspace in Europe and Australia and the Tiguan L in China with the same panels
- Not covered: Short-wheelbase Tiguan (Europe; 2,681 mm wheelbase: own rear doors, quarters, roof and hatch)
Tiguan (2022–2024, AD1 long wheelbase facelift)
2022 – 2024
- Slimmer headlights with a light strip across the grille; new front and rear bumpers; same long body
- LED fog lamps on Comfortline and up; Trendline has blank inserts: choose the fog option
- R-Line has its own front and rear bumpers, grille insert and side sills (Volkswagen 2022 order guide)
- Front and rear parking sensors on Highline, rear only on Comfortline: choose the sensor options
- Roof: solid, or the panoramic sunroof: choose the roof type

- Not covered: Short-wheelbase Tiguan (Europe)
Tiguan (2025+, third generation, North America)
2025 onwards
- All-new body with a wide, low grille joined to slim headlights by a light strip and smooth, flush sides
- The North American Tiguan is the long body sold as the Tayron in Europe and China; the shorter European Tiguan is a different body
- LED fog lamps on SE and up; S has blank inserts: choose the fog option
- R-Line has its own front and rear bumpers and grille insert
- Front and rear Park Distance Control is standard on every trim including S (Volkswagen 2025 dealer launch guide): choose 'with' for both sensor options
- Roof: solid, or the panoramic sunroof: choose the roof type
- Not covered: European Tiguan (2024+, short body)
- Not covered: Tayron (same body sold outside North America; not yet listed)
