Toyota Tacoma: which body do you have?
Compare your car with the pictures. The year you bought it is only a hint, because bodies changed at different times in different regions.
Tacoma (2016–2023, third generation)
2016 – 2023
- Hexagonal grille with a thick body-colour surround; one grille and one headlight pattern fit every trim, including TRD Pro
- Squared-off headlights, fog lamps in the lower corners on most trims
- TRD Off-Road has its own front bumper, hood & fender and rocker patterns
- SR (and some SR5) trucks have no fender flares; the other trims do, which changes the bumper, fender, sill and quarter patterns: choose the flare option
- TRD Sport and TRD Pro have a hood scoop: choose the scooped hood on hood kits
- Rear parking sonar on Limited / TRD Pro (optional elsewhere), no factory front sensors: choose the rear-sensor option on rear bumper kits
- Double Cab (four full doors, 5-ft or 6-ft bed) or Access Cab (rear-hinged half doors): choose the cab and bed on side, rocker, roof and full-body kits
- Not covered: Bed sides and bed rails (no kit covers the bed)
Tacoma (2024+, fourth generation)
2024 onwards
- Tundra-style nose with a tall grille and slim headlights
- Front bumper patterns: TRD Off-Road / PreRunner / TRD Sport / Limited share one; SR / SR5 another; TRD Pro and Trailhunter each have their own
- Hood & fender patterns: TRD Off-Road / PreRunner / Trailhunter share one; SR / SR5, Limited, TRD Sport (hood scoop) and TRD Pro each have their own
- TRD Pro and Trailhunter have their own headlights, painted grille surround and rocker panels; SR / SR5 have their own rocker panels too
- Rear bumper: SR has its own pattern, TRD Pro its own; the other trims share one
- Front and rear parking sensors vary by trim: choose both on bumper kits
- Double Cab (four doors, 5-ft or 6-ft bed) or XtraCab (two doors, 6-ft bed): choose the cab and bed on side, rocker, roof and full-body kits
- Not covered: Bed sides and bed rails (no kit covers the bed)
