Toyota Prius: which body do you have?
Compare your car with the pictures. The year you bought it is only a hint, because bodies changed at different times in different regions.
Prius (2016–2018, XW50)
2016 – 2018
- Fourth-generation Prius (XW50) before the 2019 update: sharp-edged nose with a small upper grille, wide lower intake and angular headlights
- One pattern set fits every trim (Two, Two Eco, Three, Three Touring, Four, Four Touring); the 2019 update changed the bumper, hood, headlight and sill patterns, so a 2019 or later car needs the next body
- Front parking sensors on the upper trims only: choose the front-sensor option on bumper and front kits
- LED fog lamps on some trims: choose the fog option on headlamp and front kits
- The Prius Prime plug-in (own front end) is a separate body below
- Not covered: Prius Prime plug-in hybrid (listed separately)
- Not covered: Prius v wagon and Prius c (different bodies)
Prius Prime (2017–2022, XW50)
2017 – 2022
- Plug-in Prius Prime of the fourth generation: its own front bumper, hood and fenders, headlight and sill patterns, different from the Prius of the same years
- One pattern set fits every Prime trim (Plus / Premium / Advanced, later LE / XLE / Limited) and every year; the model year change in 2020 did not alter a panel
- Charging door sits in a rear quarter panel; the side kits are cut for the standard Prius body and are not offered separately for the Prime
- Front parking sensors on some trims: choose the front-sensor option on bumper and front kits
- LED fog lamps on some trims: choose the fog option on headlamp and front kits
- Not covered: Standard Prius 2016–2022 (listed separately)
- Not covered: 2023 and later Prius Prime (shares the 2023+ Prius body)
Prius (2019–2022, XW50 refresh)
2019 – 2022
- Updated fourth-generation Prius: reshaped front bumper, new headlight units and revised sills compared with the 2016–2018 car
- One pattern set fits every trim (L Eco, LE, XLE, Limited, 2020 Edition, Nightshade Edition) including the AWD-e versions
- Front parking sensors on the upper trims only: choose the front-sensor option on bumper and front kits
- LED fog lamps on some trims: choose the fog option on headlamp and front kits
- Roof with or without a sunroof: choose the roof option
- The Prius Prime plug-in (own front end) is a separate body above
- Not covered: Prius Prime plug-in hybrid (listed separately)
- Not covered: 2016–2018 Prius (listed separately)
- Not covered: Prius c (different body)
Prius (2023+, XW60)
2023 onwards
- Fifth-generation Prius (XW60) and the Prius Prime (Plug-in Hybrid) built on it: low roof, slim 'hammerhead' lights and a closed nose
- Prius Prime SE / XSE / XSE Premium share the standard pattern set; choose the charging-door option to include the plug-in cut-out
- LE, LE AWD and the AWD Limited and XLE cars have their own sill patterns (and side panels on AWD): pick the matching trim
- Front parking sensors on some trims: choose the front-sensor option on bumper and front kits
- Roof: solid or panoramic glass roof; choose the roof option
- LED fog lamps on some trims: choose the fog option on headlamp and front kits
