Tesla Model X: which body do you have?
Compare your car with the pictures. The year you bought it is only a hint, because bodies changed at different times in different regions.
Model X (2015–2020)
2015 – early 2021
- Chrome accent line across the nose
- Fog lamps in the lower bumper
- Chrome window trim and door handles
- Falcon-wing rear doors (all generations)
- Parking sensors on every car (no choice needed)
Model X Refresh (2022+)
2022 onwards (first deliveries late 2021)
- Wider, blacked-out lower front intake
- No chrome anywhere; black trim and handles
- Smooth nose panel without an accent line
- Larger rear diffuser
- Mid-2025 update added a small camera lens below the Tesla badge; the film patterns did not change
- Parking sensors were dropped during 2023: choose the sensor option on bumper kits
- Hood, fender and mirror patterns carry over from the 2015–2020 body

Tesla Model X PPF kits by body
We cut DIY pre-cut paint protection film for 2 Tesla Model X bodies. A new body starts wherever the panels change shape, such as a facelift with a new bumper or lights, so a kit always matches the car it was cut for.
