Tesla Model S: which body do you have?
Compare your car with the pictures. The year you bought it is only a hint, because bodies changed at different times in different regions.
Model S Nosecone (2012–2016)
2012 – early 2016
- Black oval 'nosecone' panel on the front, like a grille
- Round fog lamps in the lower bumper
- Chrome door handles and window trim
- Body-coloured lower bumper with a small lip
- Painted roof, solid or with the panoramic sunroof: choose the roof type on roof kits
- Parking sensors: none, four (2012–2014) or six (Autopilot hardware, late 2014 onwards): choose on bumper kits
Model S Facelift (2016–2020)
Mid 2016 – 2020
- Smooth body-coloured nose with a thin chrome accent line
- Fog lamps in the lower bumper
- Chrome door handles and window trim
- Same rear as the nosecone car
- Painted roof, solid, with the panoramic sunroof or with the fixed glass roof: choose the roof type on roof kits
- Parking sensors on every car (no choice needed)
Model S Refresh (2021+)
Mid 2021 onwards
- Wider lower front intake with a smooth upper nose
- Fog lamps in the lower bumper on most markets
- Black window trim and door handles
- Mid-2025 update added a small camera lens below the Tesla badge; the film patterns did not change for Long Range / All-Wheel Drive cars
- Plaid built from mid-2025 has its own front splitter, headlights, sills, trunk lid and rear diffuser: choose the Plaid (mid-2025 update) trim
- Parking sensors were dropped during 2022: choose the sensor option on bumper kits

Tesla Model S PPF kits by body
We cut DIY pre-cut paint protection film for 3 Tesla Model S bodies. A new body starts wherever the panels change shape, such as a facelift with a new bumper or lights, so a kit always matches the car it was cut for.
