Subaru Outback: which body do you have?

Outback (2020–2022, BT)
2020 – 2022
- Long wagon body with black wheel-arch cladding; hexagonal grille with chrome accents
- LED fog lamps on Touring and up; Convenience has blank inserts: choose the fog option
- Outdoor XT / Onyx Edition XT have dark trim on the same bumper
- Front View Monitor camera in the grille centre on Touring, Onyx Edition XT / Outdoor XT and Wilderness (Subaru brochures); other trims have a plain grille: choose the grille-camera option on grille, full-front and full-body kits (Wilderness: choose 'with')
- Wilderness (2022) has its own front and rear bumpers, grille, hexagonal fog lamps, larger cladding and a matte hood decal
- Rear sonar sensors on Limited / Premier: choose the rear-sensor option
- Sold as the Legacy Outback in Japan
Outback (2023–2025, BT refresh)
2023 – 2025
- Reshaped front bumper and grille with black cladding that wraps around the headlights; new fog-lamp bezels
- Same headlights, hood and body as the 2020 car
- Front View Monitor camera in the grille centre on Touring, Onyx Edition XT / Outdoor XT and Wilderness (Subaru brochures); other trims have a plain grille: choose the grille-camera option on grille, full-front and full-body kits (Wilderness: choose 'with')
- Wilderness 2023 kept its 2022 front end; the 2024–2025 Wilderness has a redesigned front bumper, grille and LED fog lamps (Subaru MY2024 announcement): two Wilderness SKU sets
- LED fog lamps on every trim in Canada (including Convenience) and in the United States (including the base Outback), per the 2025 Subaru specifications and brochure: choose 'with fog lamps'
- Rear sonar sensors on Limited / Premier / Wilderness: choose the rear-sensor option
Outback (2026+, seventh generation)
2026 onwards
- Boxy, SUV-like body with a flat roof and squared-off rear; wide rectangular grille with slim headlights
- LED fog lamps on most trims; look at the lower bumper corners and choose the fog option to match your car
- Wilderness (2026) has its own bumpers, grille, fog lamps and larger cladding
- Front View Monitor camera in the grille on Touring and Wilderness; other trims have a plain grille: choose the grille-camera option on grille, full-front and full-body kits
- Rear sonar sensors on Limited and up: choose the rear-sensor option
- Announced for North America first; other regions are not yet confirmed
