How to recognise this generation
  • Long hood and a wide grille with a thin chrome frame; slim headlights; one pattern set fits every trim
  • No fog lamps
  • Sedan body with a conventional trunk. The hatchback (Mazda3 Sport) is its own model: Mazda states the saloon shares only its bonnet and windscreen with the hatchback, so bumpers, fenders, doors and lamps are sedan-specific
  • Turbo (2021+) adds a black grille and larger exhaust tips on the same panels
  • The 2024 update changed the interior only; every body panel carries over
  • Rear parking sensors on GS and up, front sensors on GT: choose the sensor options; rear lip spoiler on some cars: choose the spoiler option on trunk kits
