Mazda CX-5: which body do you have?
Compare your car with the pictures. The year you bought it is only a hint, because bodies changed at different times in different regions.
CX-5 (2017–2021, KF)
2017 – 2021
- Wide grille with a chrome 'signature wing' along its lower edge that runs into the headlights; one pattern set fits every trim
- Slim headlights; round LED fog lamps in the lower corners on GS and up (GX has blank inserts): choose the fog option
- Rear parking sensors on GS and up, front sensors on GT / Signature: choose the sensor options to match your car
- Grille mesh finish differs by trim (dark chrome on Signature) but the surround and bumper are shared by every trim
- Kuro Edition (2021) has black trim only; the panels are shared
- Roof: solid, or a conventional power moonroof (single opening) on GS and up; no panoramic roof was offered: choose the roof type on roof and full-body kits
CX-5 (2022–2025, KF refresh)
2022 – 2025
- European, UK and Asian cars have their own rear bumper pattern: choose the vehicle specification
- Reshaped front and rear bumpers with a wider lower grille and vertical air-curtain slots in the corners
- Headlights keep the slim outline but carry a new LED signature (one pattern fits every trim); the fog lamps were deleted
- Two front bumper, hood & fender and sill patterns: GX / GS / S / Kuro / Carbon Edition (and US S Select / S Preferred), or GT / Sport Design / Suna / Signature / every Turbo (body-colour lower trim and flared fenders)
- Rear bumper patterns: GX / GS / S / Kuro / Carbon Edition; GT / Sport Design / Suna / Turbo and US S Select / S Preferred; Signature / Turbo Signature
- Doors, roof and headlights are shared; front sensors on the GT group, rear sensors on GS and up: choose the sensor options
- Roof: solid, or a conventional power moonroof (single opening) on GS and up; no panoramic roof was offered: choose the roof type on roof and full-body kits
- Sold alongside the 2026 third generation during run-out in North America; the last new sale of this body is not yet evidenced
CX-5 (2026+, third generation)
2026 onwards
- All-new body, 115 mm longer with a 75 mm longer wheelbase, so no panel is shared with the 2017–2025 car
- Wide, low grille with the slim headlights pushed out to the corners; MAZDA lettering across the hatch instead of the emblem
- No fog lamps; no parking sensor choice is needed on this body
- GT / S Premium / S Premium Plus have their own front and rear bumpers, hood & fenders, doors and sills; GX / GS / S / S Select / S Preferred share the standard patterns
- Roof: solid, or the panoramic sunroof on upper trims (Mazda 2026 CX-5 packaging); no single-opening moonroof is offered: choose the roof type on roof and full-body kits
- European and North American sales start in 2026; first customer deliveries per region are not yet evidenced, so the starts are marked unconfirmed

Mazda CX-5 PPF kits by body
We cut DIY pre-cut paint protection film for 3 Mazda CX-5 bodies. A new body starts wherever the panels change shape, such as a facelift with a new bumper or lights, so a kit always matches the car it was cut for.
