Lexus ES: which body do you have?
Compare your car with the pictures. The year you bought it is only a hint, because bodies changed at different times in different regions.
ES (2019–2021, XZ10)
2019 – 2021
- Tall spindle grille with vertical bars and a chrome frame; sleek coupe-like roofline
- Angular headlights with an L-shaped daytime light; no fog lamps
- F Sport has a mesh grille, its own front and rear bumpers, side rocker trim and a factory trunk-lid spoiler: choose 'with spoiler' on trunk-lid and full-body kits (other grades have no spoiler)
- ES 300h shares every panel with the ES 350
- Digital Side-view Monitors (small camera pods instead of door mirrors) are offered on upper grades in Japan from 2018 and in Europe from 2020 (UK Takumi, Germany, Spain, Poland and other markets): look at your car and choose the mirror housing type on hood / fender / mirror, full-front and full-body kits
- Front and rear parking sensors on upper trims and packages: choose the sensor options
ES (2022–2025, XZ10 refresh)
2022 – 2025
- Revised spindle grille insert (L-motif bars, mesh on F Sport) and a reshaped lower front bumper
- Slimmer headlights with new triple-beam LED units; no fog lamps
- F Sport has a mesh grille, its own front and rear bumpers, side rocker trim and a factory trunk-lid spoiler (Lexus, 2022 update): choose 'with spoiler' on trunk-lid and full-body kits (other grades have no spoiler)
- Digital Side-view Monitors (small camera pods instead of door mirrors) are offered on upper grades in Japan and in several European markets (for example the UK and Spanish ES 300h Luxury): look at your car and choose the mirror housing type on hood / fender / mirror, full-front and full-body kits
- Front and rear parking sensors on upper trims and packages: choose the sensor options
- Sold alongside the 2026 eighth generation during run-out; the last new sale of this body is not yet evidenced
ES (2025, XZ10 China refresh)
2025 (China)
- China-only second refresh of the seventh-generation ES (Lexus China, November 2024): new spindle grille, double-L headlamps, full-width rear lighting and LEXUS lettering replacing the rear emblem
- Body sides, doors and roof carry over from the 2022 car; front and rear bumpers, grille and lamp units are new
- F Sport has a mesh grille, its own front and rear bumpers and side rocker trim
- Sold only in mainland China; first customer deliveries are not yet evidenced, so the start is marked unconfirmed
ES (2026+, eighth generation)
2026 onwards
- Taller fastback body with a closed-off 'spindle body' nose; slim headlights and flush door handles
- Hybrid (ES 350h) and electric (ES 350e / 500e) share the body, but differ in two panels: the hybrid carries an additional upper cooling grille opening in the nose, and the electric cars have a charging door in the passenger-side (right) front fender (Lexus, North American launch). Electric cars therefore have their own grille, hood / fender and combined SKUs: pick the Electric kits for an ES 350e / 500e
- No fog lamps
- Chinese deliveries start first; North American and European starts are announced but not yet evidenced
