BMW 5 Series: which body do you have?
Compare your car with the pictures. The year you bought it is only a hint, because bodies changed at different times in different regions.
5 Series (2017–2020, G30)
2017 – 2020
- Kidney grilles that run into the headlights, headlights with a hexagonal daytime-light shape and fog lamps in the lower bumper
- The sedan only: the Gran Turismo and the Touring use other panels and are not covered
- M Sport (and the M550i) has its own front bumper, headlight surrounds, rocker panels and rear bumper
- Luxury / Sport Line cars (530i, 540i) use the standard bumpers; the 530e iPerformance has its own side panels (also with M Sport)
- Parking sensors (4 or 6), the front camera, the sunroof and the optional rear spoiler change the cut: choose the options that match your car
- 530e iPerformance has a charging door in the front left fender: choose the charging-door option on hood / fender kits; the M5 is listed as its own body
- Not covered: 5 Series Gran Turismo
- Not covered: 5 Series Touring (wagon)
5 Series (2021–2023, G30 LCI)
2021 – 2023
- Facelift of the G30: slimmer LED headlights, larger kidney grilles and reshaped bumpers; fog lamps in the lower bumper
- The sedan only: the Gran Turismo and the Touring use other panels and are not covered
- M Sport (530i, 530e, 540i) and the M550i xDrive each have their own front bumper, rocker panels and rear bumper; Sport has the base pieces
- Cars with a front camera need a cut-out in the grille: choose the camera option on grille kits
- Parking sensors, the sunroof and the optional rear spoiler change the cut: choose the options that match your car
- 530e has a charging door in the front left fender: choose the charging-door option on hood / fender kits; the M5 is listed as its own body
- Not covered: 5 Series Gran Turismo
- Not covered: 5 Series Touring (wagon)
5 Series / i5 (2024+, G60)
2024 onwards
- Slim split headlights (daytime-light bar above the main lamp) and a tall kidney grille, optionally with the lit Iconic Glow surround
- Covers the 530i, 540i, 550e plug-in hybrid and the electric i5 (eDrive40, xDrive40, M60); the Touring is not covered
- The Sport package (530i, 540i) has its own front bumper, rocker panels and rear bumper; the i5 Sport has those plus its own grille
- The i5 M Sport and M60 use the 530i M Sport bumpers but their own grille
- Cars with a front camera need a cut-out in the grille; choose the grille surround (standard or Iconic Glow) and the roof (moonroof or Sky Lounge)
- The 550e has a charging door in the front left fender and the i5 in the right rear quarter panel: choose the charging-door option on hood / fender, side and full-body kits; the M5 is listed as its own body
- Not covered: 5 Series Touring and M5 Touring (wagons)
M5 (2018–2020, F90)
2018 – 2020
- Wide-body M sedan on the G30 with wider front fenders, large M intakes and fog lamps in the intake corners
- Covers the M5 and M5 Competition; the Competition has its own rear bumper
- Parking sensors (4 or 6), the front camera, the sunroof and the optional rear spoiler change the cut: choose the options that match your car
- The M Performance carbon package changes the front splitter, rocker panels and rear lip: mention it when ordering
- Not covered: M5 CS (listed with the 2021+ body)
M5 (2021–2023, F90 LCI)
2021 – 2023
- Wide-body M sedan on the G30 LCI with slim LED headlights, wide front fenders and large M intakes
- Covers the M5 Competition and the M5 CS
- Cars with a front camera need a cut-out in the grille: choose the camera option on grille kits
- Parking sensors (4 or 6), the sunroof and the optional rear spoiler change the cut: choose the options that match your car
- The M Performance carbon package changes the front splitter and rocker panels: mention it when ordering
M5 (2025+, G90)
2025 onwards
- Wide-body plug-in hybrid M sedan on the G60 with the split light bar, a tall kidney grille and wide front fenders
- The sedan only: the M5 Touring (wagon) is not covered
- The M Performance package and the Executive package change the front bumper, rear bumper and rocker panels: choose the options that match your car
- Cars with the advanced driver assistance package have a front-camera cut-out in the grille
- The carbon package changes the roof and rear: choose the roof construction of your car
- Charging door in the front left fender: choose the plug-in hybrid charging-door option on hood / fender kits
- Not covered: M5 Touring (wagon)
