2018 – 2020
- Octagonal single-frame grille with a chrome frame and horizontal bars; angular headlights
- No fog lamps (the lower corners carry air inlets)
- S line exterior package has its own front and rear bumpers and side sills
- SQ5 has its own front and rear bumpers, grille insert and sills; hood and fenders are shared
- Q5 55 TFSI e plug-in hybrid (2020) has a charging door in the left rear quarter panel: choose the charging-door option on side and full-body kits
- Headlamp washer nozzles in the bumper with LED / Matrix headlights: choose the washer option on bumper kits
- Not covered: Q5L (China, long wheelbase)
Q5 (2021–2024, FY facelift)
2021 – 2024
- Wider, flatter single-frame grille; slimmer headlights; new front and rear bumpers with larger side intakes
- S line exterior package has its own front and rear bumpers and side sills
- SQ5 has its own front and rear bumpers, grille insert and sills
- Q5 Sportback (2021+) is a different body: sloping roof, its own rear doors, quarters and hatch
- Q5 55 TFSI e plug-in hybrid has a charging door in the left rear quarter panel: choose the charging-door option on side and full-body kits
- Headlamp washer nozzles with LED / Matrix headlights: choose the washer option on bumper kits
- Not covered: Q5 Sportback (different body)

Q5 (2025+, third generation)
2025 onwards
- All-new body: larger single-frame grille with a vertical-slat insert, sculpted slim headlights, vertical air curtains at the bumper corners above a wide lower air intake, and a full-width rear light strip
- S line exterior package has its own front and rear bumpers and side sills
- SQ5 has its own front and rear bumpers, grille insert and sills
- Q5 Sportback is a different body
- Q5 e-hybrid plug-in (2025+) has a charging door in the left rear quarter panel: choose the charging-door option on side and full-body kits
